Another Great Season of
Live Professional Theatre.
Hello, everyone, and welcome to our new season
of plays and musicals, one that we know you'll
agree will be as exciting and entertaining as
any we've done! Our 2007-2008 season includes a
contemporary comic drama by acclaimed Canadian
playwright George F. Walker (Love and Anger), a
riotous, irreverent history lesson (The Complete
History of America (Abridged)), a classic
screwball comedy by the incomparable J.B.
Priestley (When We Are Married) and a charming,
whimsical family musical (A Year with Frog and
Toad). On top of that, we start off with an
edge-of-yourseat thriller (Dial "M" for Murder),
and conclude with a soaring musical chock-full
of Irving Berlin's hit songs (Annie Get Your
Gun). Join us by subscribing to see them all
and, as always, "sit back, relax and enjoy the
show!"

"Remarkably good
theatre…tingling with excitement”
— BROOKS ATKINSON, THE NEW YORK
TIMES
Tony Wendice has married his wife, Margot,
for her money, and now plans to murder her for
precisely the same reason. He arranges the
perfect crime, blackmailing an acquaintance into
committing the deed, while at the same time
arranging his own airtight alibi. When the plot
goes awry, however, Wendice shows just how
cruelly resourceful he can be, even as he
struggles to avoid disaster, barely keeping one
step ahead of a Scotland Yard police inspector.
A runaway Broadway hit, one made even more
famous as an Alfred Hitchcock film, Dial “M”
for Murder is one of the great thrillers of
all time!

“A welcome
success in the world of musical theatre”
—MINNEAPOLIS STAR TRIBUNE
Based on the popular series of books for
young readers, A Year with Frog and Toad follows
the adventures of two friends as they awaken
from their hibernation and navigate through a
busy year—planting a garden, raking leaves,
going sledding—joined by some colorful
companions along the way. Set to a wonderfully
jazzy score, this appealing musical lovingly
captures the spirit of Arnold Lobel's whimsical
stories as the unlikely friendship between the
cheerful Frog and the somewhat grumpy Toad
blossoms and grows. A favorite when it was
performed in New York, A Year with Frog and
Toad has been delighting audiences all
across the country ever since. Tuneful,
high-spirited fun for all ages.
Based on the FROG AND TOAD books by Arnold
Lobel

“Breathlessly paced, slapstick merriment”
—THE NEW YORK TIMES
“Inspired lunacy”
—THE CLEVELAND PLAIN DEALER
A madcap, comic romp that presents five
hundred years of American history in less than
two hours of wild parody, beginning in 1492 and
careening up till the present day. As The
Washington Post put it, the authors “mine dozens
of landmark events and trends for comic gold….
Not only do they know how to give American
history an irreverent boost, they actually turn
it into something accessible and alive”.
Fast-moving, topical, and enormously funny, The
Complete History of America (abridged) has been
a resounding hit throughout the U.S. and around
the world. Note: Adult language and content.

“Hilarious”
—BBC RADIO LONDON
“Delectable…a 20th century comedy classic”
—THE MANCHESTER GUARDIAN
“Marriage is a serious business”, pronounces
a character in Priestley’s buoyant comedy.
“Where’d we be without it?”, chimes in another.
“Single”, replies a third, a bit too
nostalgically. In When We Are Married,
three couples, pillars of the community in an
English village of yesteryear, are gathered to
celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary, having
all been married on the very same day. This
picture of respectability is disrupted by a
bombshell, however—it seems the parson who
married them, all those years ago, lacked the
proper credentials to perform the ceremony! A
spiral of outrage and panic— not to mention
fantasies of escape among the more browbeaten
and henpecked— ensues, as the couples try to
keep the scandalous news from the neighbors, the
press, and even the mayor, who’ve all been
invited. A delightfully comic gem of a play,
from one of the most brilliant dramatists of
recent times.

“A remarkable phenomenon…electrifying”
—CANADIAN THEATRE REVIEW
“One of our most distinctive playwrights”
—TORONTO STAR
The longest-running original play in Toronto
theatrical history, Love and Anger is
both a refreshing and timely comedy from
award-winning dramatist George F. Walker.
Following a serious illness, one-
time corporate
lawyer Peter “Petie” Maxwell has transformed
himself into an ardent champion of the poor and
downtrodden. As the leader of a small, ragtag
group of would-be reformers fighting the corrupt
and powerful, however, Petie never lets his
new-found idealism get in the way of his old,
unprincipled methods. A play The New York
Times described as “nutty, knockabout fun”,
Love and Anger is a crisp and witty
comedy from one of Canada’s most widely produced
playwrights. Note: Adult language and
content.

“Berlin's
greatest achievement in the theater…one of the
Broadway theater's enduring triumphs”
—THE NEW YORK POST
Annie Oakley is the best shot around,
managing to support her little brother and
sisters by selling the game she hunts. When
she's discovered by the enterprising Col.
Buffalo Bill, he persuades the backwoods
sharpshooter to join his Wild West Show. It only
takes one glance for her to fall head over heels
for the show’s top star, dashing shooting ace
Frank Butler. When Annie eclipses Butler as the
main attraction, however, it proves to be good
for business—but not for romance. With a rousing
score that includes “Anything You Can Do”, “I
Got the Sun in the Morning”, and “There’s No
Business Like Show Business”, Annie Get Your
Gun was Irving Berlin’s biggest hit ever, an
exhilarating musical you won’t want to miss!
